Have you heard the story of a child who found a
huge amount of starfish washed up on a beach, and started throwing them back
into the sea? When asked, “What does it matter when there are so many?”
the child replied, “It matters to this one” and threw another starfish
back into the sea.
Our systemic coaching has a spiritual dimension, and
although many people have difficulty talking about spirituality, we often coach
people to access and explore experiences that many call spiritual,
experiences which we find to be valuable in a search for meaning, lasting
integrity and sense of life.
What do you remember from before your birth? What do
anticipate after your death? We often help people explore their forgotten
past and future memories. Many have described a sense of free fall in a
primordial dimension - not lost, just not yet found. I have heard so many
descriptions from boundless joy to endless regrets as people explore themselves.

You cried when your body was born ... what will be your last
words when your body dies - when all sounds fade and light returns to darkness?
If you leave your personality and sentimentality, you're free. What was not born
cannot die - has an unborn you existed since the beginning of the
universe ... and will continue for eternity?
What are your reasons for living? Have you chosen a life
purpose - perhaps a purpose bigger than your life? Do you want to choose to
define and fulfill your life purpose, and live a life rich in meaning? Do
you want to experience profound freedom and connectedness?
You can access this connectedness by integrity and responsibility, tied
together by how you express and receive love. Or you can feel profoundly
lost and without purpose. There are always choices.
At the core of our being seems to be a sense of integrity
and connectedness. (We don't ask you to believe us - experience this for
yourself!) During this experience we can feel part of and connected to all
that is. We call this experience Soul or integrity, and this
path to it Soulwork. We coach people to access this integrity and
connectedness as a basis for resolving many life issues.
Spirituality & Maturity
During our coaching, many people have described feeling
isolated or disconnected. Our clients are typically highly educated, caring
people, faithful to the spiritual traditions that they learned as children. But
spirituality usually develops with maturity. We find a continuum rather
than ultimate truths.
Most young people accept first their parents' beliefs and
then the dogma of an established religion or traditional philosophy. Later as
young adults they are more likely to seek their own paths. Typical goals of
mature spirituality are to deepen and share the experience often called
sense of life ... in community.
It often seems that a common goal of spirituality can bee
called increased maturity - which for me means appropriately expressing
love, honesty and integrity. This goal may only become conscious after a
breakdown or a mid-life crisis
which challenged immature beliefs.
Personal development seems intertwined with spiritual
development. Although we have coached very many people to change their
habits and personalities - and although the changed personalities may
be happier, more competent, more successful, more balanced and less
complaining; we do not consider personality change, ecstatic experiences
or increased resourcefulness to be particularly spiritual. These changes
are more like changing clothes to feel better.
Simply being with people who are spiritually focused,
even if spirituality is not discussed, can motivate us to
live with integrity. Expressions of honesty, love, and
integrity inspires us to seek our own paths.
We cannot live in integrity if we judge, condemn,
falsify or avoid reality. We do not seek imaginary esoteric agencies. We
can dance the moment with acceptance and accept miracles. Life is not
a struggle if we are on the flow, but life is a series of choices in
which we can choose to act with integrity.
If we think of enlightenment as something we will
attain in the future, it will never come, and life passes quickly.
Focusing to the future and past seem to be egotistic functions that
block the vision of Spirit.
Integrity is in how you assess what you have done in
this world. We can help you explore your inner self without prejudice, as
steps on your path. Rather than searching for enlightenment, we can help
you live according to your own agenda. Ego - a sense of separate
self - is a wonderful tool to use to learn from the past, to make decisions
now or to plan the future.
