This is not a manual - it's an outline of one of our skill-sets. These articles map or represent some of our modeling skills. A map may be
frustrating if you feel lost and you need immediate solutions for pressing
problems. Why not email us and we can coach you step by step by telephone or
online.

Are your staff Competent - or merely Qualified ?
Neither motivation nor knowledge
ensure competence. Poor performance is more often due to disabling or
limiting beliefs, toxic relationships, trauma or low quality mentorship
than to lack of motivation or knowledge. (See
Identity Loss.)
Effective technicians and engineers know that
using hi-tech systems is as much about people as about technology.
Although user friendly are key words in sales and marketing, rapid
acquisition of competence is an essential challenge for most
organizations.
Expert Modeling, in
conjunction with systemic coaching and accelerated learning, can accelerate
performance. We provide the essential "know how",
instead of more
"know about" (which can be hastened with our Accelerated Learning).
Our Expert Modeling can provide a rapid and cost-effective performance boost
to both individual and organizational productivity.
Expert Modeling Overview: Phase 1
Phase 1 of Expert Modeling creates a knowledge base of
behavioral micro-skills that can later be compiled to create a total model of
competence. This knowledge-base allows the components of expert strategies
to be explored rather than creating hasty solutions that may prevent further
learning.
A. Identify experts
- Identify experts
- Dissolve objections
- Interview management
- Collect performance reviews
- Review performance records
- Identify average and expert performers
B. Elicit components of expert skills
- Partition each task
- Observe high performers
- Observe and record all components of expertise
C. Decompose expert skills
- Identify behavioral differences
- Divide complex skills into manageable pieces
- Define the boundaries and scope of each sub-skill
D. Decompose an expert model
- Observe and record behaviors
- Ask the experts for verbal descriptions
- Elicit and record relevant internal dialogue
- Observe and record the markers of internal processes
- Increase knowledge base with skill refinement techniques
E: Systemic Ecology
- Consider the side-effects of an accelerated performance increase
- What are the benefits and risks for all members of the system?
Conclusion of Phase 1
Phase 1 of Expert Modeling decomposes expert
performance into a knowledge base of behavioral micro-skills.
Phase 2 tests, optimize and refines these skill components, and sequences
them into testable models of competence. When tests indicate accelerated transfer of
competence, phase 3 transfers the strategies of expertise, using
accelerated learning and systemic coaching.
